THIS FORM IS NOW CLOSED.
THIS FORM IS TO BE USED FOR TAKING A PHYSICS COURSE AT ANOTHER COLLEGE OVER THE SUMMER.
Please submit the completed approval form to Cindy Montalvo-Harden: cindy.montalvo-harden@njit.edu. The form will get reviewed and approved by the Chair of the Physics Dept. or the Transfer Coordinator. Once it is approved, the form will get emailed back to the student with further instructions.
NJIT students who wish to take a Physics class at another college (including Rutgers-Newark, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) & Essex County College) over the summer must obtain prior written approval from the Physics Department. Students will need to complete and submit an “Approval to take a Summer Course at Other Colleges” form which can be obtained at the link above. It is the student’s responsibility to find out if the other college is offering the Physics course. The Physics office staff can help you determine the correct equivalent course. Students must check with their academic advisor on the Physics course they require. It is not the responsibility of the Physics Department if the student takes the wrong Physics course.
NOTE: Students are not permitted to take a Physics course at another college during the Fall and Spring semesters except under unusual circumstances which will be reviewed by the Chair of the Physics Department on a case by case basis.
Exception for taking courses at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) in Fall / Spring: Matriculated NJIT students may cross-register for courses at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) during Fall and Spring semesters. Eligible students, who wish to do so, should follow current procedures as described on the Registrar's website (look for Cross Registration Exchange Form).
For students who would like to take a course at NJIT over the summer and require a permit, please go to the following website: https://physics.njit.edu/permits
