The form will be reviewed by the Physics Department Chair or Transfer Coordinator.
Once approved, the form will be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office (student will be cc’d).
After final approval, the Registrar’s Office will return the fully approved form to the student.
Note: Students may need the approved form to register at the other institution.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Confirm that the course is offered at the other institution.
Ensure all Physics courses and labs are taken in person and not online or remote. Remote or online courses/labs will NOT be accepted for transfer credit.
Work with the Physics Office to determine the correct course equivalency.
Consult your academic advisor to confirm the course meets degree requirements.
Important: The Physics Department is not responsible if a student selects an incorrect course or lab.
TRANSFER CREDIT NOTES
Credit is awarded only for grades of C or higher.
A grade will be posted only for courses completed at schools with an approved course registration agreement with NJIT.
Any course(s) taken and grade(s) received at Rutgers-Newark, Essex County College, and RBHS will be posted on the NJIT transcript.
FALL / SPRING RESTRICTIONS
Students are NOT permitted to take Physics courses at another institution during the Fall or Spring semesters, except under special circumstances approved by the Physics Department Chair.
CROSS-REGISTRATION
Matriculated NJIT students may cross-register at the following institutions during the Fall and Spring semesters only:
Rutgers–Newark
Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS)
Essex County College
NOTE: Students who wish to take a course at these institutions during the summer must complete the Approval Form (link above). Grades earned at these institutions will be posted on the NJIT transcript.
